City council throws support behind Pembina Pipeline project in Taylor
Fort St. John City council vote to support Pembina Pipeline in its applications for the Taylor to Gordondale pipeline project.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — City council is supporting Pembina Pipeline in the application process for the Taylor to Gordondale pipeline project.
During the May 26th regular meeting of the City of Fort St. John, council decided to send a letter of support to Pembina Pipeline due to the economic support the company brings to the region.
The company sent city council a ‘letter of support’ request for “upcoming projects and opportunities to progress the energy industry in Fort St. John.”
Mayor Lilia Hansen brought forward the approved resolution to support Pembina in writing, citing the “economic benefits to local and Indigenous communities” through energy infrastructure.
Hansen discussed the proposed $340.9 million Taylor to Gordondale pipeline as one of the ongoing projects directly benefiting Fort St. John.
The councillors unanimously approved the motion, and resolved to send a letter of support for the application process of the Taylor to Gordondale pipeline project before June 3rd.
