Child cyclist hit by pick-up truck in Fort St. John, RCMP launches investigation
RCMP are investigating an incident on 86th Street where a pickup truck struck a child on a bicycle on June 2nd.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A child riding a bike was hit by a pick-up truck in Fort St. John yesterday.Â
On June 2nd, a child riding a bicycle at the intersection of 116th Avenue and 86th Street in Fort St. John was struck by a pickup truck turning right onto 86th Street.
The police investigation into the collision caused 86th Street to close.Â

According to Corporal Madonna Saunderson, RCMP media relations officer for the North District, the street was closed shortly after for an investigation by the Fort St. John RCMP detachment.Â
“The cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening,” Saunderson stated.Â
“The driver of the pickup remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”
No further details were released by RCMP as of June 3rd.Â
