FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Public Library is set to get a much-needed tech upgrade thanks to the city.

During the May 26th regular meeting, the City of Fort St. John council voted in favour of donating surplus Windows 11 computer equipment to the Fort St. John Public Library.

In the May 28th episode of Council Corner, Councillor Jim Lequiere explained the city has donated computers to the library in the past and believes supporting non-profit organizations in the community is important.

The library requires one laptop and two desktop computers to fully replace its technology, and while the city does not have any desktops to donate, it is giving laptops and docking stations and will donate desktop computers “when they become available.”

The laptops, running Windows 11, will be replacing computers previously donated by the city and will support the day-to-day operations of the library.
