(UPDATE) Wildfire reported south of Dawson Creek
BC Wildfire Service has deployed crews and other equipment to battle a 115-hectare near Heritage Highway south of Dawson Creek.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A 115-hectare wildfire has been discovered south of Dawson Creek.
According to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the fire has burned 115 hectares and is listed as ‘out of control.’
The blaze was first discovered on May 28th in the Kiskatinaw River area near Heritage Highway (Highway 52).
According to Pedro Roldan-Delgado, an information officer with the Prince George Fire Center, suppression efforts are currently underway.
“We do have crews and air tankers accessing the fire,” said Delgado.
“We also have helicopters assisting crews where needed on the fire.”

The suspected cause of the blaze is human activity.
