FORT NELSON, B.C. – A wildfire in the Fort Nelson zone first discovered nine days ago has now been listed as ‘being held’ by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

Located in the Komie Road area, the fire started on May 15th and has burned 47 hectares. It is near two large fires in the area, one in Brandt Creek and another located by Etcho Creek.

The BCWS enforced a 50-foot ‘wetline’ around the perimeter this week in an effort to suppress the flames.
