‘Free Stuff Weekend’ returns to Fort St. John for sixth year
For the sixth year in a row, Recycle-It Resource Recovery Fort St. John has announced its Annual Curbside Free Stuff Weekend on May 24th and 25th, 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local recycling centre is organizing its sixth free-stuff event this coming weekend in the city of Fort St. John.
For the sixth year in a row, Recycle-It Resource Recovery Fort St. John is holding its Annual Curbside Free Stuff Weekend.
From May 24th to May 25th, residents across Fort St. John are encouraged to place unwanted household items on the curb rather than discarding them in the garbage.

According to the announcement Facebook post on May 19th, Recycle-It is looking to break the event’s record of 95 participating households.
Households interested in participating can register for free on the company’s website and appear on a map of the city for those interested in swapping or exploring items available over the weekend.
Participating individuals are encouraged to place a sign with the word ‘free’ near the items involved, respect private property when investigating free signs and not discard anything on another participant’s lawn.
Items used as examples for things that can be used on the weekend include books, CDs, DVDs, furniture and small appliances, tools, sports equipment, gardening and yard equipment, holiday decor, electronics and construction materials.
