Firefighters’ Charity Ball raises record-breaking $180,000
The Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society’s annual Charity Ball was held on May 3rd, 2025 and raised roughly $180,000.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Local firefighters have raised nearly $200,000 to support burn victims and people in need of financial assistance with travel for medical treatment.
The Fort St. John Firefighters Charitable Society’s annual Charity Ball was held on May 3rd. According to a Facebook post from the association, the event raised roughly $180,000.
“To everyone who donated, supported and gave so generously to our charity ball — thank you,” the post reads. “Whether it was a raffle prize, a sponsorship, a silent auction item or a seat purchase, your generosity made a real difference.”
Money from the annual event is used for various causes, including the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, which helps burn survivors who have experienced traumatic events, and a medical travel fund open to anyone in Fort St. John in need.
“Every donation, big or small, helps bring support to those who need it most, and we couldn’t have done it without you,” the post continues.
The amount raised at this year’s ball surpassed the $166,000 raised at the record-breaking 2024 event.
