The bridge is down to single-lane alternating traffic, with a pilot car on-site to guide vehicles.

Motorists can expect a minimum 20-minute delay for the duration of the work, DriveBC said.

Vehicles with a width exceeding 3.85 metres are asked to wait until 3 p.m. to go across the bridge.

Dawson Road Maintenance initially reported the work was scheduled to start on Monday, May 5th.

When Energeticcity.ca asked why it began earlier than anticipated, the service did not provide an answer.

This will be the fifth time this year maintenance will be performed on the bridge.
