Dawson Creek to host consultation for Official Community and Transportation Master Plans

The City of Dawson Creek is hosting a meeting on April 15th to gather feedback as it prepares to update two important community planning documents.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The City of Dawson Creek is inviting residents to share their feedback as it prepares to update two planning documents that will shape the city’s future.

Draft versions of the latest Official Community Plan and Transportation Master Plan are currently available on the city’s website, and staff members are organizing a meeting at the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre so residents can learn more and share their thoughts.

The Official Community Plan covers the broad outlines of the city’s planning for the next 20 years, including housing, land use and economic development.

Meanwhile, the Transportation Master Plan highlights changes that need to be made in the next few years to improve residents’ transportation experience around Dawson Creek.

The meeting at the aquatic centre is scheduled for 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15th.

The consultation will be free to attend and won’t require pre-registration. Staff members will be at the meeting to collect feedback and hear from residents.

After the meeting, a free swim and climb at the aquatic centre will be available for all residents. Attending the prior meeting isn’t required to take part in the free swim and climb.
