Update (3:25 p.m., March 25th 2025): This story has been updated to include commentary from FSJ Disc Sport Club’s Josh Stokmans
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Warmer spring weather means it will soon be time to discover one of northeast B.C.’s hidden sports gems – disc golf.
The FSJ Disc Sports Club, in association with the Dawson Creek Disc Golf Club, will present the Wizzing Wizzard tournament this weekend, according to a Facebook post.
Unlike regular league play, the event will not be sanctioned. Meaning ratings for play will not be awarded.
Dawson Creek’s Ron Efernam will be running the event, presented as a “three disc challenge.”Â
“It’s a fun, casual event,” explains Stokmans. “It’s a non-sanctioned tournament [we’re] running with sponsors, Gateway discs and through Running Chains.
“We’re just doing a casual two-day kick off to the season. There won’t be ratings or anything.”
