Extreme Mudfest returns to Dawson Creek this summer
Dawson Creek’s Extreme Mudfest, a music festival and offroad vehicle racing event, is set to return this summer.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A music festival and offroad vehicle racing event is set to return to the South Peace this summer.
The second annual Dawson Creek Extreme Mudfest is scheduled for July 4th to 6th at 187 Riverside Road in Pouce Coupe.
Organizer Billie Jo said her team had significantly more time to organize this year’s return event compared to its B.C. debut in 2024.

“Last year, we had three months to literally build the [website], build the lineup, go on sale, it was kind of a hair-on-fire situation,” Jo explained in an interview on 100.1 Moose FM on March 11th.
“This year, we’ve had a lot of time to get together and really do the planning part of it, and we’re really excited about the lineup.”
That lineup of performers hasn’t been revealed yet. Last year’s headliners were country band The Road Hammers, rock band Default, and hip-hop artist Snak the Ripper.
Jo said she was “absolutely blown away” by the success of last year’s Dawson Creek Mudfest.

The festival debuted in Cold Lake, Alberta for several years before branching out across the provincial border.
According to Jo, it wouldn’t have been possible for the event to run as smoothly as it did without sponsors and members of the community stepping up to help.
“It’s honestly the most powerful community I think I’ve worked in before, and we’ve done a lot of festivals,” she said.
Last year, the festival was held in August. According to Jo, the festival is now in July to avoid conflicts with other important dates around the same time as last year’s festival, including the beginning of hunting season.
“We wanted to move it in earlier in July, really take advantage of the weather and kick off summer the right way.”
Jo said tickets will be available for pre-purchase on Friday, March 14th, but prospective attendees will need to sign up in advance in order to be eligible.
“You’re going to sign up via email or via text,” she said, “and our presale will open 48 hours before we go on sale with the general public so that you have chances to get your tickets and your camping [reservation] before it’s sold out, because it will sell out.”
More information is available on the festival’s website.
