Reeves confirmed Nickerson’s guilty plea and asked Nickerson if he understood that there may be collateral consequences of his plea or sentence, to which he answered in the affirmative.
“As a result of your sentence or your guilty plea, you may find it more challenging to cross the border, to travel to the United States or other things like that,” Reeves said to Nickerson. “It may be more difficult to volunteer to coach Little League Baseball or things like this.”
The Crown stayed a charge of breaching a conditional sentence order.
Last May, Nickerson was sentenced to 18 months house arrest and 18 months of probation for one count of sexual assault committed on May 8th, 2022 in Fort St. John.
