TAYLOR, B.C. — Taylor Elementary School students got the chance to learn curling thanks to the district’s local club.

According to Taylor Elementary School’s principal, Nancy Maxfield, the club has offered grade four to six students the chance to learn the sport during semi-regular lessons since the start of the year.

Since January, the students have received six lessons.

Students walk to the club in small groups from school for a one-hour lesson before returning to class.

Maxfield says the lessons are one of many opportunities for students offered by the community, which also include swimming and golf lessons.

“All the different things we access for basically no cost, I think it’s a pretty amazing relationship between the school and the community,” said Maxfield.
