Obituary – Martin Albert Hoffart

It is with heavy hearts the family of Martin Albert Hoffart announce his passing on January 10, 2025.
Martin was born in Regina, Saskatchewan the seventh of eight children to Joe and Ferne Hoffart. Martin was 2 years old when the family moved to a farm near Ogema, Saskatchewan where Martin and his siblings attended school.
In the early 80’s Martin moved to the Dawson Creek area where his oldest brother and his sister lived. His parents and brother Mike followed soon after.
Martin went to Northern. Lights College and obtained his Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry.
Over the next several years Martin held various jobs in his trade in Ontario and Alberta. He returned to B.C. and became the very proud father to Martin Joseph(MJ) in April 1991. He lived in Kelowna, Mackenzie and Dawson Creek. In 2009 he obtained his home inspection certificate and started doing home inspections. He later moved to Prince George after a diagnosis of spinocerebellar ataxia to be close to his doctor.
As his mobility decreased he was no longer able to do the home inspections. He took some additional training and the past couple of years was an instructor in carpentry.
Martin is survived by his son MJ, his siblings Melvin (Heather) Hoffart, Anne of(Oliver) O’Reilly, Joan (Richard) Gray, Linda (Noel)Granger, Rita Hoffart, Michael (Corrina) Hoffart as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Martin is predeceased by his parents Joe and Ferne Hoffart and his brother Gordon Hoffart.

Celebration of life to be held January 31, 2025 at 1 pm in Dawson Creek at Reynar’s Funeral Home.
