Financial support for clubs in Hudson’s Hope: registration now open

Registration has opened for financial assistance grants for non-profit organizations and clubs in the District of Hudson’s Hope.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — Registration has opened for financial assistance grants for non-profit organizations and clubs in the District of Hudson’s Hope.

According to a Facebook post on January 10th, the grant’s purpose is to “assist an organization for a specific capital project that would be beneficial” to residents of Hudson’s Hope.

“[The district] recognizes valued contributions being provided through volunteer efforts of local organizations and agencies that benefit the community,” read the announcement.

The assistance includes the donation of time, facilities, and district inventory but does not include travel expenses.

Applicants must also be registered as a non-profit society in British Columbia or Canada and submit a final report outlining costs to Hudson’s Hope upon completion of the event.

The announcement warns that repeat applicants from 2024 must have submitted their final report from last year’s event, or funding will not be approved.

Registration for applications is open until February 11th.

A guy who found his calling later in life, Edward Hitchins is a professional storyteller with a colourful and extensive history.

Beginning his journey into journalism in 2012 at Seneca College, Edward also graduated from Humber College with an Advanced Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism in 2018.  After time off from his career and venturing into other vocations, he started his career proper in 2022 in Campbell River, B.C.

Edward was attracted to the position of Indigenous Voices reporter with Energeticcity as a challenge.  Having not been around First Nations for the majority of his life, he hopes to learn about their culture through meaningful conversations while properly telling their stories. 

In a way, he hopes this position will allow both himself and Energeticcity to grow as a collective unit as his career moves forward and evolves into the next step.

He looks forward to growing both as a reporter and as a human being while being posted in Fort St. John.
