The council of the City of Fort St. John has approved an application by a local business to expand the person capacity and hours of operation of its liquor license.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The council of the City of Fort St. John has approved an application by a local business to expand the person capacity and hours of operation of its liquor license.
During the final council meeting of the year on December 9th, councillors reviewed an application from the Fort St. John Curling Club to add 50 people to their service capacity and expand the hours of operation on the business’ liquor license.
The expansion applies to the club’s ice surface, and would allow for increased traffic to the area during the evening hours.
A public notice was posted for all residents within a 0.8-kilometre radius of the establishment, and the city conducted an assessment to establish possible noise impacts.
Noise was not anticipated to be an issue, as no additional noise was expected due to the expansions.
Following a brief discussion by the councillors, the expansion was approved unanimously.
