BC Hydro installing equipment at Peace Canyon Dam

Earlier this month, BC Hydro announced the installation of a crane, shelters, and other equipment at Peace Canyon Dam in order to allow periodic water spills over the winter.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — Earlier this month, BC Hydro announced the installation of a crane, shelters, and other equipment at Peace Canyon Dam in order to allow periodic water spills over the winter. 

The service says periodic spills would help with water management and other operational aspects at its hydroelectric facilities.

The equipment includes a crane, hoses, shelters, diesel generators, and more.

Installation of the equipment started on December 3rd, 2024. The installation period is expected to last for three weeks, and the equipment will remain in place until March 2025.
