FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Senior Flyers continue to be winless in the 2024-25 North Peace Hockey League (NPHL) season, dropping their latest game to the Falher Pirates on November 16th.
Falher defeated Fort St. John in October and continued their dominance early into the first period. Pat Rowan scored his third of the NPHL season, assisted by Walter Cote and Denis Rochon.
A costly first-period high-sticking penalty by Junior Apsassin late in the first led to the first of two power-play goals in the second, as Jayden Rothwell scored his first of the year.
Fort St. John’s Jeremy Cronier’s two-minute clipping penalty midway through the middle stanza led to another power-play goal by Trevor Tokarz.
Nolan Lagace’s fourth goal of the season brought the Flyers back to within two, but Rowan’s second goal of the night into an empty net late gave the Flyers another in the loss column. The final score was 4-1.
Goaltender Ty Gullickson did his best to keep the Flyers within striking distance, stopping 47 shots.
The Senior Flyers will have a much-needed 11-day break, as their next game will not occur until November 28th, when they take on the Dawson Creek Canucks at Dawson Creek’s Memorial Arena.
