FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Residents of Fort St. John are being invited to participate in the giving season again this year with the return of the annual ‘Twisted Off Road’ Toy Drive.

Over the next few weeks, some local businesses are accepting donations of new unwrapped toys to help give kids.

Autographics Trim and Signs and Fort City Chrysler organized the toy drive, and donations will benefit the Women’s Resource Society.

The society is expanding the kinds of gifts it accepts beyond just toys for babies and infants, and it is happy to receive toys for all ages.

“People donate a lot to the Women’s Resource Center but mostly focus on young children like toddlers because we think of Christmas magic,” says Autographics manager Delilah Gurbacs.

“We still want donations for kids and babies, of course, but the older children, they deserve Christmas magic, just like the rest of us.”

Gurbacs hopes to see a bigger donation turnout this year due to having more time to get the word out about the toy drive.

“Last year, we started the toy drive. It was a little last minute, but we had a very successful turnaround. This year, we decided we just wanted to go bigger and better and create an even more spectacular toy drive.”

Toys do not need to be wrapped, as parents prefer to choose gifts based on their children’s preferences. Gift bags are appreciated for presenting the gifts nicely. Wrapping paper rolls and adhesive tape will also be accepted so that parents can wrap gifts themselves.

The gifts will be accepted at Autographics Trim and Sign located at 10828 Hemlock Road, or Fort City Chrysler at 8424 Alaska Road North.

Donations will be accepted until December 12th.
