RCMP investigate hit-and-run, urge driver to come forward

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP is seeking information on a pedestrian hit and run back in September. 

According to the RCMP, members of the public flagged down an on-patrol officer on Friday, September 21st, 2024, at 5:38 p.m.

The officer found that a woman riding a scooter was struck by a red pickup truck near the 93rd Avenue – 100th Street intersection.

The victim survived the ordeal and was transported to a hospital by BC Ambulance Services.

“The officer was in the right place at the right time to assist the public and get the victim medical attention,” said RCMP Constable Chad Neustaeter.

The truck was last observed turning eastbound onto 93rd Avenue from the Safeway Liquor parking lot.

“We are asking the public for any information they might have and for the driver to turn themselves in and speak to police about what happened,” said Neustaeter.

The Fort St John RCMP is continuing to investigate and is asking anyone who has information to contact the department at 250-787-8100.
