Kahntah Reserve evacuation order lifted by Fort Nelson First Nation

Fort Nelson First Nation (FNFN) has lifted its Evacuation Order for IR#3 Kahntah Reserve.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — Fort Nelson First Nation (FNFN) has lifted its Evacuation Order for IR#3 Kahntah Reserve.

The order was issued in early July due to the risks posed by wildfires in the area. 

According to a new release from FNFN on September 13th, “the imminent risk of danger to life and property at IR#3 Kahntah Reserve has diminished at this time.”

FNFN staff say the order has been rescinded but remind residents that it may need to be reinstated if the wildfire risk returns.
