Northern BC to receive $1.3 million for affordable housing repairs
The federal government has announced around $145 million in funding for constructing and repairing affordable homes across B.C. and Vancouver Island.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The federal government has announced around $145 million in funding for constructing and repairing affordable homes across B.C. and Vancouver Island.
The federal government announced the funding at a press conference on July 29th, stating that it will be used to construct more than 1,000 new homes and make necessary repairs to over 1,500 existing homes.
Almost 90 projects across the province will receive funding, and more than 2,600 homes are planned for repairs or construction.

“Everyone deserves a place to call their own, and the Affordable Housing Fund is one way we’re helping make that a reality for Canadians,” Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Sean Fraser said in a press release.
Projects approved for Northern B.C. will receive more than $1.3 million, which will result in the repair of over 70 affordable housing units.
Two projects have been approved for Fort Nelson, and other locations include Blueberry River, Doig River, and Chetwynd.
