Trudeau called the moment “a huge highlight” in his photography career, and some of his photos were displayed in Penticton.

“Thank you to my good friend [club president] Paul Van Nostrand and the entire organization for these incredible memories,” he said in the post.

In an interview with energeticcity.ca, Van Nostrand acknowledged the induction back in March, saying it “felt great.”

“It has rekindled so many memories,” Van Nostrand said.

In the first year Fort St. John hosted the senior men’s hockey championship, the team went undefeated in the tournament, conceding just eight goals en route to the championship.

They became the ninth team to win the tournament as hosts since it began a round-robin format in 1992.

The class of 2024 also included former NHL players Carey Price and Shea Weber.
