BC Hydro Decommissioning of Low Level Outlets at W.A.C. Bennett Dam
BC Hydro will be decommissioning three low level outlets at W.A.C Bennett Dam, about 23 km west of Hudson’s Hope.
The accumulated water within the low level outlets will be drained to treatment ponds before being returned to the Peace River. Water quality will meet Ministry of Environment discharge permit conditions. This activity will begin the middle of October 2024 and will not affect water quality (including turbidity), water levels, and downstream recreational users.
