Tupper Creek Road area sees rapid wildfire growth to 120 Hectares

A wildfire approximately 36.8 kilometres south of Dawson Creek has grown to 120 hectares overnight.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A wildfire approximately 36.8 kilometres south of Dawson Creek has grown to 120 hectares overnight. 

The wildfire is located near the Tupper Creek Forest Service Road and was approximately 75 hectares when first discovered and reported to the Prince George Fire Centre on July 9th.

A dry lightning strike is believed to have been the cause of the fire.

The wildfire has remained ‘out of control,’ however, no evacuation orders have been issued in relation to the blaze.
