FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Horticultural Society will be hosting its 2024 Garden Tour on Sunday, July 7th for individuals or families to admire some of the area’s beautiful gardens.
The North Peace Horticultural Society members meet on the second Thursday of each month at the cultural centre where they invite speakers and share tips, and ideas, about gardening.
Society member Andrea Daugherty explained that the tour has nine self-guided gardens in the Fort St. John and Charlie Lake area, where residents open their private homes to show visitors their gardens.
“This year, we have a couple that have been gardening in their spaces for 30 years, and we also have some new gardeners that are just been there for a couple years and just starting out,” said Daugherty.
Daugherty also says Browns Crafthouse will offer a 10 per cent discount on meals on the day of the tour.
Tickets are on sale at the Fort St John Museum until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday for $10 and on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“Please respect the gardens. If you go in there, no picking, stay on any paths, and please leave your pets at home,” said Daugherty
