UPDATE – Alaska Highway open north of Farmington

A collision has closed Highway 97 in both directions north of Farmington.

UPDATE as of 7:45 on June 29 – The highway is now open in both directions. The RCMP have not released any information about the collision. We will post as story as soon as official sources release details of what happened on Saturday.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A collision has closed Highway 97 in both directions north of Farmington.

Drivebc.ca says there is a vehicle incident between 220 Rd and 245 Rd (25 km north of Dawson Creek).

Detour light traffic to Parkland road and 245 road. 

Eyewitnesses say the highway closed just after 9 a.m.
