FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Waterpro Services Inc. issued a statement to customers on June 26th regarding possible service delays in July due to repairs at the Fort St. John Water Loading Station.

The station is scheduled to close in July while the parking lot is repaved. The construction was announced on June 18th, and residents of the area have raised concerns ever since.

In their statement, Waterpro Services Inc. explained that the six dispensers at the Fort St. John Water Loading Station would be out of service from July 3rd to 22nd.

The company also warned that some pricing increases may occur due to ‘distance and delays in loading times,’ and that customers may experience longer wait times.

“The distance and reduced dispensing capabilities may impact our ability to supply your household or business in a timely manner with potable water,” The statement read.

Fort St. John Mayor Lilia Hansen addressed people’s concerns in a statement on June 26th, explaining that the length of the closure is a conservative estimate, and with favourable weather, it could be reduced to 14 days rather than 19.

The next available water stations, according to the statement, are Taylor, with one dispenser, and a private station at Stoddart Creek, with two dispensers.

Residents can also travel to the Charlie Lake Bulk Water Station on Lakeshore Drive.
