Businesses are also invited to sign up as event partners or sponsors to be included in the event’s marketing and receive recognition on the city’s media platforms. To sign up, email recreation@fortstjohn.ca by June 10th.

The city says the event will attract over 7,000 participants to the park and is a great opportunity to showcase the local businesses and organizations.

They can also enter the annual parade float to celebrate and show off their national pride for the country.

Those interested in participating in Centennial Park festivities as food vendors are invited to apply by June 14th.

The celebrations will include a pancake breakfast at the fire hall and various activities at Centennial Park and the Festival Plaza.

In March 2024, council turned down a staff recommendation to postpone all Canada Day fireworks shows indefinitely, concluding that cancelling all displays going forward was inappropriate and should be addressed year by year.

Staff will determine if the fireworks will be cancelled or not on the Friday before the Canada Day long weekend based on drought and weather conditions.
