Hudson’s Hope receives funding from province for portable speed radar signs
The District of Hudson’s Hope has received over $10,000 to install portable speed radar signs in high-risk areas.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The District of Hudson’s Hope has received over $10,000 to install portable speed radar signs in high-risk areas.
The speed radar signs aim to raise awareness, enhance protection for cyclists, pedestrians and residents, and better monitor traffic patterns and speed violation rates.
In a press release on May 14th, the province announced grants totalling more than $866,000 have been awarded to 53 projects in 56 communities across the province, including Hudson’s Hope, with individual grants of as much as $20,000.

The funding is provided through the Vision Zero program, a road safety program administered by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Health, and local regional health authorities across the province.
“Keeping people safe on our roadways starts with building transportation infrastructure that protects vulnerable road users,” Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, said in the release.
This is the third year in a row the B.C. government has provided road safety support for communities across the province.
According to the ministries, funding for the community-based grant program has increased by 50 per cent since its first year.
