Two highway resurfacing projects happening in Chetwynd area

BC’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has announced two highway repaving projects coming to Chetwynd this summer.

CHETWYND, B.C. — BC’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has announced two highway repaving projects coming to Chetwynd this summer.

According to the announcement, the province is investing about $53 million into repaving highways in Northern BC.

That investment includes conventional asphalt repaving for 30 kilometres of Highway 97 in the Chetwynd area and hot-in-place asphalt resurfacing for 39 kilometres of Highway 27 between Chetwynd and Cameron Lake.

The ministry says the resurfacing work is being done to “ensure motorists continue to have a safe and comfortable driving experience.”

The announcement did not include a specific price or timeline for these two projects, except that work will begin this summer.
