Two people dead after collision near Chetwynd

CHETWYND, B.C. – Police are looking for any witnesses after a collision that claimed two lives.

On April 7th, just after midnight, Chetwynd RCMP frontline officers responded to a serious collision on the top of Wabi Hill on Highway 97 south.

A 2001 black Dodge 2500 pickup and a 2011 grey Ford F350 pickup were involved in a head-on collision. The 19-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old male passenger in the black Dodge 2500 were deceased at the scene.

The 21-year-old male driver of the Ford F350 was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the RCMP are working to determine the cause of the collision.

The highway has since reopened.
