Grassfire in Charlie Lake destroys buildings, no injuries reported

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. – Four small buildings and four vehicles were damaged in a grassfire in Charlie Lake earlier this week.

According to a statement issued by the Peace River Regional District, the Charlie Lake Fire Department was called to the scene just after 11:00 a.m. on April 1st.

The blaze began at a property on 269 Road, and according to the PRRD, firefighters kept it mostly contained to that area, with help from the Fort St. John and Taylor fire departments.

“The outbuildings, comprising two sheds and two barns/lean-tos of different sizes, were consumed, alongside damage and losses to four vehicles,” the statement reads.

All the people and animals on the property were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
