UPDATE: Fort St. John RCMP called to Super 8 hotel after disturbance report

FORT ST. JOHN — The Fort St. John RCMP were called to the Super 8 by Wyndham Hotel off the Alaska Highway on the morning of March 19th after a report of a disturbance.

According to Corporal Madonna Saunderson with the North District RCMP, no further information on the incident is available because the investigation has been handed over to the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C.

According to its website, the IIO is a civilian-led police oversight agency responsible for conducting investigations into incidents of death or serious harm that may have been the result of the actions or inactions of a police officer.

Energeticcity.ca reached out to Super 8, but they could not provide any details about the incident.
