Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers received 1,047 tips in 2023

In 2023, Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers recovered $170,000 in property, $20,842 in cash and $23,200 worth of drug seizures.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers received 1,047 tips in 2023.

With Crime Stoppers month in full swing, the northern chapter in B.C. released its 2023 statistics on January 8th.

Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers serves over 30 communities from the Yukon border to Williams Lake and Terrace to the Alberta border.

Since its inception in 1985, the organization has received 22,723 tips from residents in the north.

In 2023, Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers recovered $170,000 in property, $20,842 in cash and $23,200 worth of drug seizures.

Since its inception, the organization recovered $3,453,451 in property, $578,989 in cash and $35,580,909 worth of drug seizures.

The theme for Crime Stoppers Month in 2024 is “Be A Crime Stopper,” which encourages residents to “Keep your family safe, keep your community safe and report crime.”

In a release, the board of directors of Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers thanked residents for continuing to provide important information and the RCMP for supporting the program.
