Fort St. John Provincial Court, December 18th sentencing:

Sylvester Herbie Apsassin (born 1992)

Apsassin was sentenced for causing fear of injury or damage to a person or property for an incident in Fort St. John on March 9th, 2023. Apsassin was given a $200, 12-month recognizance after the allegation. If they break the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay the $200.

Jason Atkings (born 1978)

Atkings was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention for an incident on March 26th, 2022, in Fort St. John. Atkings was given a 12-month probation order and fines totalling $2,300, including a victim surcharge, which goes towards helping victims of a crime.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court, December 18th sentencing:

David Michael James Viczko (born 1993)

Viczo was sentenced for two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of theft of $5,000 or under, mischief, breach of release order, theft of motor vehicle and possession of stolen property over $5,000. The incidents took place in Dawson Creek from December 2021 to March 2023.

Viczko was given one day in jail and one year of probation.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court, December 19th sentencing:

Brent James Cornish (born 1976)

Cornish was found guilty of theft over $5,000 for an incident in Dawson Creek on June 22nd, 2022 and possession of stolen property for an incident in Hudson’s Hope on January 10th, 2023. Cornish was given a six-month conditional sentence, a $500 fine and an 18-month probation order. A conditional sentence is a sentence to be served within the community.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court, December 21st sentencing:

Kyle Daniel Drysdale (born 1986)

Drysdale was sentenced for possessing a break-in instrument, two counts of breach of undertaking, breach of undertaking by failing to attend, mischief of $5,000 or under, break and enter with intent to commit an offence and possession of stolen property under $5,000. 

The offences occurred in Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Saddle Hills, Sexsmith and Clairmont from October 2022 to April 2023.

He was given 20 days in jail, jail time served and a $250 fine.
