HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The Hudson’s Hope RCMP responded to 31 calls for service between October 17th to November 18th and wrote 38 violations and warning tickets for various motor vehicle-related offences.

On October 22nd, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a report of a hit-and-run incident that occurred in the pullout spot on Farrell Creek Road, just off Highway 29. It was reported that a lifted white Ford truck with a custom bumper slid into the complainant’s truck and then took off from the scene. No license plate was obtained and the complainant was unaware of any witnesses in the area at this time. 

On November 9th, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had been shot by unknown persons along Farrell Creek Road. It was reported that the complainant had parked his truck on the side of the road and was on foot back in the woods bow hunting when he heard a gunshot and a loud diesel truck leave the area. When he returned to his truck, he found that there was a single bullet hole through the box of his truck. No other descriptions of the diesel truck were provided.

On November 16th, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a report of a theft of a trailer from Upper Cache Road. It was reported that sometime between November 15th at 6 p.m. to November 16th at 6 a.m., someone stole a Rainbow flat-deck trailer which had a dumpster and three port-a-potties loaded on the deck. This trailer has a Longhorn Oil Field decal on the side along with unit No. 65122. 

Being that Christmas is just around the corner, Cpl. Schmidt would like to announce that he and his family, along with the Hudson’s Hope RCMP and the support from the Friends of Hudson’s Hope, the District of Hudson’s Hope, Hudson’s Hope Elementary Secondary School, and our local businesses, will be conducting the annual “12 Days of Christmas Giving” toy drive again this year. This will be our 4th year hosting this event, and we look forward to all the support from the local community. 

As per the flyer that will soon be published, between December 1st to the 12th, we are looking for a variety of new toys and gift cards for ages 0-18, winter clothing for boys and girls, as well as gifts for our local seniors.

Any and all monetary donations can be made payable to The Friends of Hudson’s Hope Society and dropped off at either the Hudson’s Hope Thrift Store or the Hudson’s Hope RCMP detachment. Our aim this year is to fully fill a police vehicle with donations. Drop-off locations for donations will be detailed on the “12 Days of Christmas Giving” flyer. 

Registration forms for those wishing to register themselves, a friend, child, family, or senior in need, will be available throughout the bulletin boards in town, the PSA, and or picking one up from the RCMP detachment.
