10:12 a.m. UPDATE: Barricades have been removed at the intersection, and traffic in the area has resumed.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Dawson Creek RCMP is asking residents to stay away from the intersection of 10th street and 107 avenue in Dawson Creek.

Early Sunday morning, the RCMP responded to a residence at the intersection of 10th Street and 107th Avenue and the surrounding area.

Police and multiple support units have responded to a high-risk unfolding event. The threat is contained but still active. The public is urged to avoid the area for the time being.

The RCMP has yet to release any specific information about the incident.

The Dawson Creek RCMP appreciates the cooperation of the public.
