Quintette Mine construction blasting underway, Murray River FSR temporarily closed
Blasting operations are underway for the construction of a conveyor as part of the Quintette Mine restart.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — Blasting operations are underway for the construction of a conveyor as part of the Quintette Mine restart.
The conveyor will transport raw coal from the Little Windy, Big Windy and Window pits to the plant for processing and loadout to trains.
The conveyor’s design includes the construction of culvert tunnels along its corridor.

Construction of these tunnels requires blasting, approximately 30 minutes per blast, which will temporarily close the Murray River Forest Service Road.
Blasting is planned between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to minimize disruption to traffic and is currently underway until December 1st. Approximately two blasts per week are anticipated.
