Co-op Community Champion: Samantha Warren
October’s Champion says the community’s constant support towards her and her business, Bold Promotions, over the past six years is part of what drives her to give back.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Like most Co-op Community Champions, Samantha Warren has done so much for the community without ever wanting recognition but was willing to chat after she heard about her nomination.
October’s Champion says the community’s constant support towards her and her business, Bold Promotions, over the past six years is part of what drives her to give back.
Samantha has donated her time and energy to many organizations personally, not counting the initiatives organized by Bold Promotions.

In August, the Fort St. John Professional Fire Fighter’s Association received its largest one-time donation of $60,000 from the Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament, organized by Samantha and Bold Promotions.
Since taking over running the tournament five years ago, Samantha says they have raised around $160,000 for local non-profits.
Small towns are known for coming together when one of their own needs helps. Born in Hudson’s Hope and later relocated to Chetwynd, Samantha attributes her sense of community-giving to growing up in small communities.

She is also currently in her second year as president of the Rotary Club of Fort St. John, which just celebrated 60 years this year.
“I love my job, and I love what I do. But giving back to the community and doing those events is what fills my cup. “said Samantha.
Samantha’s initial dreams of becoming a doctor changed after starting at the University of Calgary. She spent some time in retail, moving up quickly to management positions, before moving to Fort St John and joining her family business. In 2017, the opportunity arose to start her own company and Bold Promotions was born.
“I do not have a business degree. I built Bold with help from my incredible mentors and clients. And can’t believe we are coming up to seven years on January 1.”
Samantha also credits her “incredible” staff for being a huge motivation for her.
“That’s one of my big drivers, knowing that I have women working with me that support me. And that I can do the same for them by building a business that is able to put food on their table and to help support their children and just create a family here is one of my, I would say, biggest motivators.”
Outside of Bold Promotions, Rotary, and other commitments she has, Samantha is a huge advocate for female entrepreneurs and business owners. Starting Bold Promotions was the beginning of Samantha’s advocacy for women in business and led her to her current role as board chair for the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference.
Congratulations to Samantha Warren for being named October’s Co-op Community Champion.
