Police believe someone cut a chain on a gate securing the wildland fire compound and used a vehicle to take a flatbed trailer and a total of six barrels of gasoline.
The trailer has been specifically modified with large tanks used to store and mix firefighting solutions and should be easily identifiable as being a specialized piece of equipment.
Whitehorse RCMP believes it is possible the items have been removed from the area and could make their way south along the Alaska Highway.
Anyone with information about this theft or the location of the trailer or other items taken from Yukon Wildland Fire is encouraged to contact Whitehorse RCMP at 867-667-5555 or Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100.
