The Mount Wartenbe wildfire is also no longer considered a wildfire of note by the BCWS. Sharon Nickel, a fire information officer with the BCWS, said the decision was made on Monday because crews had not seen any growth on the wildfire over the weekend.
Crews, including ground personnel, heavy equipment, and aerial resources, have completed quite a bit of suppression work on the fire over the past couple of days, said Nickel.
“Based on the current and forecasted conditions and the work conducted to this point, the fire is not anticipated to grow beyond established/pre-determined boundaries,” Nickel added.
