Three men arrested after reports of shots fired Tuesday morning

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John RCMP have arrested three men in connection to a report of shots fired in the area of 104A Avenue and 112th Street on Tuesday morning.

According to a release from RCMP, an investigation lead frontline officers to a residence on 104A Avenue, where they arrested three men.

Ashton Shaun Schellenberg was arrested and held for court facing criminal charges of breach of release order, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On Wednesday, Schellenberg was remanded until June 7th.

Calvin Alexander Paige was arrested and held for court facing criminal charges of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

On Wednesday, Paige was released by the courts on a release order.

Isaiah Sterling Acko was arrested and held for court facing criminal charges of breach of release order.

On Wednesday, Acko was remanded until June 1, 2023.

According to Constable Chad Neustater, media relations officer for Fort St. John RCMP, public safety was a primary goal during the situation as it unfolded.

“As a result of the investigation, two of the three men arrested will be facing numerous firearms-related charges,” said Neustater.

Early Tuesday morning, Fort St. John RCMP received a report of shots fired in the area of 104A Avenue and 112th Street. Upon attending the scene, officers discovered shell casings in the area. Witnesses informed police that two men had been walking on the street and then fired what they believed to be a gun into the air and then the men ran to a nearby residence.
