Hudson’s Hope mayor resigns

Hudson’s Hope Mayor Dave Heiberg announced his resignation on Monday.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — Hudson’s Hope Mayor Dave Heiberg announced his resignation on Monday.

In a statement, Heiberg said he will be stepping away from council. His last day in office will be Monday, May 15th, 2023.

A by-election will be held to elect a new mayor, and a schedule for an acting mayor is reportedly already in place.

“It has been a great privilege and honour to serve you, and I thank you for the opportunity,” Heiberg said in a release. 

“Even though I am leaving the role, my family and I will continue to live here and call Hudson’s Hope home.”

Heiberg was unavailable for comment at the time of publishing.
