No updates on old Kiskatinaw Bridge reopening: MOTI
There are still no updates on when the old Kiskatinaw Bridge will reopen, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI).
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — There are still no updates on when the old Kiskatinaw Bridge will reopen, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI).
The MOTI says it will complete maintenance and stabilization of the north pier of the bridge in the summer. The work will include removing soil and debris from the pier and installing lock blocks.
In the summer of 2021, a landslide occurred under the bridge, which impacted one of the piers, and the ministry closed the bridge until the material stopped moving.

According to the MOTI, the first stage of the geotechnical field investigations has been completed since last summer, and a report is expected later in 2023.
The report will inform the ministry of the next steps.
The ministry says it is still monitoring and collecting information to establish rates and depths of slide movement.
