Teenager, 15, hurt in stabbing on the grounds of Delta, B.C., elementary school

DELTA, B.C. — Police say a teenager has been hurt in a stabbing while on the grounds of a Delta, B.C., elementary school. 

Delta police say the 15-year-old was attacked late Wednesday and left with stab wounds outside McCloskey Elementary School. 

The youth was taken to hospital and is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say their investigation has determined the victim was targeted and there’s no known connection to any other such high-profile assaults in the Lower Mainland. 

While the stabbing occurred on school grounds, police say there’s no apparent link to the school.

No arrests have been made, and police say they are looking for witnesses who live close to the school or those who may have closed-circuit videos to share.
