Yard Waste Drop-off starts next weekend

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John and the Northern Environmental Action Team (NEAT) will be doing a yard waste drop-off on May 7th, starting at 10 a.m.

The event will be at the North Peace Arena, where they’ll accept leaves and grass clippings, plant trimmings, sod, and twigs and branches.

Items that are not accepted are bags, processed lumber, trees longer than 6 feet or more than two inches in diameter, food scraps or dog waste, cement, rocks or dirt, and Black Knot infected branches or trees—these are to be properly disposed of to stop the further spread of infection.

The city would like to remind residents not to drop off waste before 10 a.m.
