PRRD to invite RCMP delegation for annual policing review

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District will invite representatives from local RCMP detachments to a committee of the whole meeting for an annual review of policing activities.

The regional board will invite staff sergeants from the Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge RCMP detachments to a meeting to identify priority areas for the upcoming year.

Every year, RCMP requests input from their residents, stakeholders, community leaders, and organizations to better understand their communities’ needs, concerns, and issues.

The PRRD says that because priorities can change rapidly, this information is used to ensure that policing services meet citizens’ demands.

At a council meeting on Thursday, the board carried the motion to invite the delegation to a meeting, a date for which has not been set.
