Fort St John Huskies win over JDA County Kings on Tuesday

CLAIRMONT, A.B. – The Fort St. John Huskies were in Clairmont on Tuesday night as they visited the JDA County Kings.

There was almost no scoring throughout the first period as both teams could not net a goal.

Then with 1:22 remaining in the frame, in a power play, Gary Loewen would score a goal with a feed from Matthew Apsassin and Aiden Craig-Steele making the score 1-0 over the Kings as they headed into period two.

At 1:42 into the second period, Brady Marzocco would score one on the Kings with assists by Chase Gregory and Gary Loewen making the score 2-0.

It wouldn’t be until period three when another goal would be scored.

With 5:56 remaining in the game, Alex Nimmo would score a goal with a feed from Dean Whitcomb and Aiden Craig-Steele.

The Pups would not allow the Kings to score a single goal, with the game ending in the Huskies favour of 3-0.

Currently, in the NWJHL Standings, the Huskies are currently tied in first with Dawson Creek Junior Canucks with 40 points each.

Up next, the Huskies are home this Friday, February 1, as they host the North Peace Navigators. Game time is 8:00 p.m. at the North Peace Arena.
