Northeast B.C. unemployment rate drops for month of July

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The unemployment rate for northeast B.C. dropped in July.
In June of this year, the unemployment rate sat at 7.3%. Stats Canada reported on Friday that the rate for July was 6.6%.
British Columbia has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country at 5.3 percent. Manitoba had the lowest rate at 5.0%. B.C. sat at 5.1% in June.
Employment in Canada rose by 0.1% while the unemployment rate for the country dropped 0.2% to 6.3%. The number of full time jobs in the country was up by 35,000.
